Parents-In-Law Visit To Vermont

August 9th through the 16th, Randy's parents came to visit us for the first time since we have moved over 1 year ago now. We were both super happy that they finally were able to come. They brought all 3 of the dogs in the 12-14 hour car ride it takes to get here from Michigan. I don't know if I would have had the patience, but Melanie (Randy's mom), prevailed and everyone made it here alive. We had a blast the whole week. I think I ate more corn on the cob the week they were here than I have in my whole life. It was in season, and it tasted so good after making it on the grill we ALL couldn't get enough of it! We made a trip up Mount Equinox during the visit on a gorgeous sunny day and we could see for miles. We even got a pretty good look at the Monastery where the Monks make all their beer. The dogs were all well behaved and there were no accidents on the carpet, THANK GOD!! We also made 2 trips to Vermont Country Store in Weston, Vermont, where my employee discount came in VERY handy. It rained on all but 2 of the days Jim and Melanie were here, but we made the most of those 2 days and the rainy ones. We did a whole lot more than just go up a mountain and buy things, but I don't really remember everything. I just really want my parents to come and see where their daughter lives. We love it out here, and I'm not so sure when or ever we will move back to Michigan. I know that is a bold statement (especially for a few viewer/readers, (Meagan, Mom) but that is the honest truth).
And now for a few pictures of the visit.

This is Melanie and I standing by one of the many "edges" you can drive up to while going up Mt Equinox.

This is Randy and I at a Picnic Area that was set up on part of the drive up the Mountain. There is a fireplace on both sides of this one in the background. It was huge.
Here we all are standing at one edge of the Mountain. Curly wanted to be in the picture too!

Here is a picture of the Monastery, you might have to look real hard. If you ever have the chance to see it in person it is very beautiful, and it kind of resembles a castle.

At the very top of Mt. Equinox there is a trail that I believe runs down one whole side of the mountain and over to the Monastery (but don't quote me on that). Anyway, it is very covered with trees and rocks and brush and even on a very hot day with all that coverage it feels cool. Well, it tends to stay very wet as well which is great for the growth of mushrooms. These pictures are just 2 samples of what seemed like 20 or more kinds that we saw while walking part of the trail. The white ones look like little roses that were frozen and frosted over. I thought they were really neat.

Awesome pics!!

It makes me so sad that you don't want to come back to MI. But, it does give us another place to visit. BUT, when you start to have babies we're all gonna team up and make you move back :)

Luv ya!
